RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Molecular and cancer biologist with expertise in the field of cancer. She contributed to the discovering of the role of tumorsuppressors PML in the regulation of autophagy and how PML loss promotes cancer development (Missiroli et al, Cell Reports 2016). Dr. Missiroli published 34 articles (Total IF>200 Total citations > 1.600 and h-index 21,Scopus). Beside cancer biology, which is the main focus of her career, she is now currently focused on exploring the effects of tumor suppressors in the host environment in the regulation of inflammation and defining how this could have an impact in the progression of different diseases (Missiroli et al. Cell Death Dis, 2018). She is also oriented in studying NLRP3 inflammasome involvement in cancer and in neurodegenerative disorders.
